I love Oregon deeply – it’s been my home for 24 years. Now I’m running for State Senate because I want to see results coming from Salem, not excuses.
I get that Oregon is better than most places, but “better than most” is not my measuring stick. I envision an Oregon that provides the best schools, the cleanest air and water, and an exceptional economy for all people. Oregon is a place that doesn’t leave anyone behind.
I grew up in Indiana and moved to Oregon in 1995. I’ve loved serving my community ever since. I served in the Multnomah County DA’s office from 1995-2007 working with victims of child abuse and domestic violence. I volunteered on the board of my kids' school for 4 years and help address homelessness in our community as the chair of the Board at Transition Projects.
Right now, too many people in our community are struggling just to make ends meet or just survive. I know what some of that is like as a breast cancer survivor, but I also know I've had it better than a lot of people. That’s why I want to take this chance to get things done.
I can’t sit still while knowing our state can do more when we should do more. Let’s stay connected and build a better Oregon together.
